Egg Hunt and Drumlin Farm

When Grandma Trish was here we took her to the nearby Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm.  We spend a lot of time looking at the sheep and lamb.  The girls are very interested in collecting rocks these days. They also had their first face plants that day.  We also stopped by our Concord Family Network Springtime festivities, but missed the actual egg hunts.  There's always next year:)

Kendra and Kalani

As some of you know I increased my paid workload from 5 hrs a week to 10-12 in January. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it is and required a change in childcare since Dakota is away at college in NC.  Kendra is my friend and fellow member of the Natural Moms group.  She and her 3.5 year old son Kalani drive 30 minutes to come care for my girls.  I feel so blessed.  Brenna and Nora love them both so much and they have a ball together.  I get quite the welcome when I come into the living room from my home office.

Three Week Update

Time is flying by!  I can't believe I haven't posted on the blog in 3 weeks.  We had a great visit with Auntie Mo and Uncle 'Key'.  Aunt Janie and Ali the dachshund came to visit from Long Island as well.  We took a stroll around Concord and looked at the old houses and town center.  The girls asked for them all quite a bit after they left.

Grandma Trish flew up from Florida for a long weekend and Aunt Holly, Uncle Rob, and cousin Hazel came to visit as well.  We squeezed in an early Unitarian themed Passover dinner amidst planning last minute travel to NYC after receiving news of Great Grandpa Kwartler's passing at the age of 101.  He was a feisty man that once joked with me that my wedding dress was too long because it was in a large garmet bag:). We stopped to visit him in NYC on our way to NH for our wedding.

Brenna and Nora are growing like crazy.  They can open the doors throughout the apartment.  Guests beware and lock the bathroom door!  Brenna climbed up into the dining chair yesterday and Nora can reach things off the kitchen counter.  No area is safe anymore :). The last baby gate came down as we secured the new-used TV stand and bookcase to the wall. It was a milestone.  20 months pictures coming soon!   (I guess I can understand why I haven't posted lately:)

Busy Bees

Aunt Mo and Uncle K are visiting for a whole week and the girls can even say their names....Mo and K.  Sometimes Aunt Mo sounds like Elmo :). Brenna has especially warmed up to her Uncle and they are having a blast.

The girls are chatting up a storm.  They can have complete conversations with their new words of 'me', 'mine' and 'no way'.  Brenna has taken an interest in colors and can recognize green, pink, and blue.  Nora often reads out loud to herself and is taking after her mom and likes to count.  They both have new teeth (in a untraditional pattern) which might have been contributing to some recent sleepless nights.  We recently converted their cribs to toddler beds in a search for more sleep and as they seem to be yearning for more autonomy. They seem to like them even though Brenna often prefers the floor.  Nora has been especially found of mom these days and I think I need a more supportive ring sling for my 25+ lb. toddler :)
