Cousin Lunch

It was so fun to meet Carla, John, Nevin, and Truman for lunch on their way to the Cape for vacation.  We are looking forward to more cousin visits with playtime as well.

Eleven Months!!!

The last few weeks Brenna & Nora have seemed to grow up overnight.  Ted and I are taken aback at how FAST they are changing.  They are both walking all over the place.  We expanded our childproofing area so they follow me around the apartment while I do housework.  They are like little ducklings.

Nora is quite the ham.  She loves to make us laugh with her peek a boo using her hands as well as peering around the corner.  She had her first fever a couple weeks ago.  She kicked the virus in a couple days.  We are so blessed to have such healthy babies.

Brenna loves to clap and dance to the music from class.  They are both so expressive with their face and language.  Sometimes they will have chats while sitting next to each other in their highchairs.  I've made an intention to embrace this moment and stop to play with them quite a lot.  We are all having so much fun together.  Thanks to Dakota the babysitter for the great 11 month photos!

Aunt Mo & Uncle K - Part Two

At Maureen & Kudzayi's wedding we met some of his relatives who actually live nearby so we tagged along to a family BBQ during their visit.  Kudzayi hadn't seen some family members since he was very little.  They are so welcoming & lovely.  We also visited nearby Walden Pond and DeCordova Sculpture Museum.  Of course there was more swinging!  Brenna & Nora were enthralled with their Aunt & Uncle swinging next to them.

Aunt Mo & Uncle Kudzayi Visit-Part One

We celebrated July 4th with Aunt Mo and Uncle Kudzayi's arrival, some BBQ, pool time with the little ladies, and even fireworks.  The next day we melted in downtown Boston and did mostly a driving tour to beat the 100+ degree heat.  Nora is like her dad in that she doesn't deal well with the high temp, but really wanted to play with the baby ducklings in the Boston Common.  She is also IN LOVE with her Uncle.  She couldn't get enough of him.  Ted and Kudzayi had some brother bonding at Sam Adams brewery.

First Date of 2013

Ted was given VIP tickets to the Boston Pops July 3rd "rehearsal" performance since Liberty Mutual is the main sponsor.  We almost didn't make it due to lots of security forces who weren't on the same page as to where we needed to enter, but we ended up having a lovely time.  Delicious dinner, meeting new co workers, and listening to talented musicians.  I was inspired to get my flute out and start playing again.  Our talented babysitter was able to get the girls to sleep so we stopped for a glass of wine in Beacon Hill before heading home.

Nora's First Tooth and Brenna's New Word

Two weeks ago we took a quick trip up to the New Hampshire cottage.  We visited with Aunt Janie and Aly who were there as well.  A Great Blue Heron also stopped by and hung out on the point for a while - long enough for Ted to get some great photos.  Nora was chewing on a piece of furniture and Ted stopped her by putting his finger in her mouth.  To his surprise there was a sharp tooth poking through.

Brenna's new word is Up.  She uses it appropriately when she wants to be picked up which is very often :)  She has three teeth now; one on the top and two on the bottom with two more on the way.  Her smile is completely adorable.

The girls ate lunch outside on the porch and got quite messy so I took them in the lake to clean up.  These water babies were ready to go swimming.
