Belated Father's Day Post

With all the Grandma excitement I forgot to post about Ted's first Father's Day.  He and I spent most of the day at the car dealership getting a great deal on a family van!  Wahoo! This will make having visitors much easier since we won't have to take two cars around town.  There are also lots of road trips on the horizon.  Ted requested his favorite meal for the special occasion - Beef Brisket.

Aunt Holly & Uncle Rob

We had a lovely visit last weekend with Ted's sister Holly and her husband Rob who drove up from CT.  They are expecting their little girl in November!  We ate, laughed, and took a brief walk even though it was blistering hot outside.  

First Swim

When Grandma Kelly was visiting we took the girls for their first swim in the pool.  They enjoyed it.  We went again with Grandma Trish who just departed today after her visit.  The girls got lots of Grandma love this month:)

Swinging

They love them and are right outside in our neighborhood playground.

Nanna

We had a wonderful visit with Grandma Kelly.  We went to story time at the local kid's bookstore, strolled Concord town center, went to the girl's last music class, and took the girls swimming for the first time.  

I think Brenna and Nora were calling her Nanna so we will have to see if that name sticks.  

Dragon Boat Race

Last weekend we had a family fun day in Cambridge at the Dragon Boat Race Festival.  There was yummy Asian food and cultural dance performances. It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Brenna's New Hairdo

Brenna's hair is getting long so it's teeny tiny pony tail time.  Nora wasn't sure what to think about her sister's new hair do.  The girls are getting good at feeding themselves, but scream terribly when it's time to get cleaned up.

Catching Up

As the girls approach their 10 month milestone I thought I would share the photos from 9 months.  Brenna took her first steps last week.  I think I'm still in shock.  She took multiple steps with both feet.  She is also getting good at throwing balls.  Nora is pretty close to walking as well, but also practicing her language skills at length.  She likes to make a 'lalalala' sound with her tongue making contact with the roof of her mouth and protruding out past her lips.  It's completely adorable.

They love watching the bathtub being filled up.  They get on their very tippy toes with all of the excitement.

Castle Island

Last weekend we beat the heat and headed to the coast for a breeze.  We walked around Castle Island in South Boston and the girls got to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time (technically it was a bay, but close enough).  We also ate some awesome seafood.  I loved being near a coast!

Family Band

Brenna on the drums and Nora on the whistle.  Brenna has also learned from Nora about how to use the elephant whistle.  They both manage to also make whistle noises through a random toy with a hole in it.  Problem solving for sure.
